Three questions before comparing apps
- What food does your pet eat? Check the exact model’s supported food type and kibble size. A dry-food hopper is not a refrigerated wet-food feeder.
- What portion do you need? Compare the dispensing range with your pet’s existing routine, then measure actual output at home.
- Who checks the feeder? Automation still needs refilling, cleaning, and someone to respond if a meal is missed.
PETLIBRO Granary Smart Camera Feeder
At a glance: Scheduled feeding plus mealtime video in the single-bowl configuration linked below.
- Capacity and schedule: PETLIBRO lists a 5 L hopper and up to 10 meals or snacks per day.
- Camera: Listed as 1080p with a 145° viewing angle and two-way audio.
- Food: Confirm the exact model’s kibble-size limits; this is not a refrigerated wet-food feeder.
- Power backup: PETLIBRO says battery-only emergency operation preserves scheduled meals but disables Wi-Fi and the camera.
- Ongoing checks: Refill and clean the feeder, measure actual portions with your food, and check storage-plan charges before relying on video history.
These are published specifications, not measured performance. A listed hopper volume does not establish how many days your household can go without refilling.
Worth considering if
You want scheduled feeding with a camera to observe mealtimes. The manufacturer offers different configurations and video-storage options; check the variant before ordering.
Think twice if
You don’t want indoor video capture or an ongoing service dependency. Review which features are included and which require payment; do not assume every advertised camera function is free.

Worth considering if
You want app-managed feeding without prioritizing a built-in camera. PetSafe lists up to 12 scheduled meals daily and portions from 1/8 to 4 cups. It requires a 2.4 GHz wireless router.
Think twice if
You need a feeder for a different food type or cannot provide the required network. Shared feeding does not establish how much each pet ate, so consider your household’s setup.

Try it while you’re home
Observe multiple scheduled meals, check portion output, and follow the manual to verify backup behavior. Decide who will check food levels and respond to problems. A camera can help you observe a meal; it cannot fix a jam or refill the hopper.
Privacy and running costs
For camera models, check account security, storage choices, and household consent. Before paying for cloud history, decide whether live viewing or local storage covers your needs.
